Robert J. “Bobby” Soper

As President and CEO of the Mohegan Sun resort in Uncasville, Connecticut, Bobby Soper not only turned around an organization on the decline (in terms of both revenue and profit), but also created an environment that employees were happy to work within. Under his leadership, the Uncasville property was one of just two gaming companies at the time to be named a Forbes “Best Place to Work,” a remarkable feat and a testament to Soper’s commitment to those who make successful casino and resort operations possible. 

Since beginning his career more than decades ago, Robert J. Soper has served on numerous boards and held various leadership positions. Some of the boards Robert J. Bobby Soper is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sun Gaming & Hospitality. As a leader in the gaming   industry, among many of his accomplishments he was recognized   for leading Mohegan Sun’s effort to successfully procure an exclusive integrated resort license issued in Korea, and for his exceptional leadership ability. He’s been a member of several boards and received multiple awards for his professional accomplishments. Mr. Bobby Soper has served on the board of Trustees at Misericordia University; WVIA Public Broadcasting; the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute as Treasurer; Scranton Tomorrow as Vice Chairman; and Volunteers in Medicine.

Bobby Soper is a gaming and legal professional with decades of experience in his field. Bobby Soper is the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sun Gaming & Hospitality (SG&H) in Florida, where he lives with his wife, and he’s passionate about assisting others to innovate in the hospitality industry. Bobby Soper got started in the casino and resort business fresh out of law school, when he worked for the Mohegan Tribe of Indians as legal counsel. Former President Bobby Soper helped handle the legal transactions related to the financing and development of the Tribe’s casino, as well as legal advisor to its burgeoning casino business.
